The Starry Night

...By Vincent Van Gogh (1889).  As I see it, one of the Greatest Paintings of All Time was unconsciously trying to express the Ecstatic, Orgasmic Grandeur of the Cosmos!  Beckoning us to take a closer look, note the enlargement of Stars by Galactic swirls with a dark flaming cypress symbolic of dark energy.  Thus the power of this Masterpiece.  Also inspiring a Great Song ("Vincent", with the line "Starry, Starry night" by Don McLean) it has resided at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, part of the Lillie P. Bliss Bequest, since 1941...
