...Umberto Eco, one of my favorite writers, has passed away. I remember feeling drawn to the above-pictured cover and book at a beautiful Barnes and Noble bookstore in Oak Brook, Illinois, eventually to buy it. To me (and maybe even to him) "Foucault's Pendulum" (1988) was his best novel. As this cover presages, his work, was and is, filled with mystical, mysterious musings on the arcane and esoteric. Predating Dan Brown's popular book "The DaVinci Code" (2003), Umberto Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum" anticipates and expounds on similar themes in an even more spectacular way...Rest In Peace Umberto Eco
